Key factors leading to infection of fish and humans with FZPs described and preventive measures recommended and made commonly known among the direct stakeholders

Three main problems for sustainable prevention and control of FZPs in freshwater aquaculture have been identified. They are:

Limited capacity for identifying and conducting risks assessment of FZPs

Lack of information on the occurrence and risk factors of FZPs in aquaculture

Limited collaboration among stakeholder institutions
